READY FOR TAKE OFF

Just packed my bags for a trip to the East Coast of the USA, unfortunately not in those beauties of Globetrotters, but still the trip is great. Starting in Greenwich, CT then via New Haven, CT. (for sure I will check the Gant Campus Store and Yale University) to Nantucket & Martha's Vineyard, from there heading to the Niagara Falls and finally Chicago, Il., "the windy city". I think I will receive a big shot of the "Real American Prep".

COWGIRLS & INDIANS

I don't know whether it's a trend or just something I like, but for sure Navajo print designs are colorful and they are not only for your winter wardrobe. Look how stylish these girls are.....

SANTA IS EARLY THIS YEAR!

Last week, I ordered some hanky's at Hickoree's and as it was an International shipment, I had to ask some questions, the service I received from Mitch Frank was excellent and quick. Today I received my early X-mas gift by mail, and this isn't what you normally can expect from an e-commerce order. It was packed with "love" and it's truly a present which you unwrap full with excitement. In this package 2 hanky's from The Hill Side, a camouflage print and a selvedge chambray. Thanks, Hickoree guys, you really made my day!!

L'ART DE L'AUTOMOBILE....MAIS OUI!

Ralph Lauren has in his private garage a collection of around 60 cars, but as said that's private. But 17 of those beauties are now displayed at the Paris Musee des Arts Decoratifes till August 28. Summer in Paris? Why not add a stop for cars after your croissants and coffee? After your visit you can buy the book, with all the details of the cars, who owned the car before, engine, etc etc.  For those who can't wait to see and hear them, click here for pics and sound clips.

THE CLUB BLAZER

What's a Rowing Race without a true Striped Club Blazer?

Where the blazer is part of the dress of a school, college or sports club, these are blazers in the traditional sense, single breasted often of bright colors or with piping, it is normal for a badge to be sewn to the breast pocket. This style is also worn by some boat clubs, such as those in Cambridge or Oxford, with piped version only on special occasions such as boat club dinner. In this case, the piping is in college colors, and college buttons are worn.

GO GINGHAM....GO!

It's like the guy from the Pierrepoint Hicks lookbook shout it out "Go Gingham Go". He is more then right, it's a true summer style pattern, wear a colorful Thomas Mason shirt or a Gingham tie, and yes even a Gingham blazer or Gingham espadrilles are a great option for your summer outfit.

They all want to be the next Scott Schuman of the Sartorialist.

EDDIE WOULD GO!

THE SUNGLASS HUT

History repeating, you can't go wrong with a "classic". These models are of all times whether it's a Ray Ban Wayfarer, JFK was wearing, an Aviator style, like Robert Redford and Marlon Brando preferred, a Carrera style like Paul Newman or the iconic Persol 649S which was the favorite of Steve Mcqueen.
Never ever wear sunglasses you bought for an afternoon on the golfcourse on the street, they just fit you from hole 1 till 18.
