This is how I will spent the coming to weeks in Florida, just driving around from one beach to another and catch some waves. Life's a bitch ;-)
Above you find the picture from the Fall/Winter 2014 collection of Eleventy.
Elventy is a "young" brand which started in 2006 with a small collection of no logo polo shirts, which were however characterized by special treatments and finishes which gave them a refined and exclusive look. Today, Eleventy offers a complete collection proudly made in Italy.
Do as their slogan: "Enjoy life with Eleventy"
"The waistcoat is one of the few articles of clothing whose origin historians can date precisely. King Charles II of England, Scotland and Ireland introduced the waistcoat as a part of correct dress during the Restoration of the British monarchy. It was derived from the Persian vests seen by English visitors to the court of Shah Abbas" (taken from wikipedia). Good to know where this layering piece comes from, but even better is to wear it. As temperature is rising you easily can break up your 3-piece suit and wear your vest separate. Dont't waist time just your coat.
With the Giro D'Italia full in progress, I bounced into this beautiful Rapha jersey.
2014 marks the tenth anniversary of the death of Marco Pantani. The first Italian since Fausto Coppi to win the Giro-Tour double, he is the tragic hero, panache personified. His dramatic attacks in the mountains left everyone breathless, though his flawed genius saw him fall the way of so many of his generation; Pantani’s downfall ended fatally when he died of acute cocaine poisoning in a hotel room on Valentine’s Day 2004. But he was one of the greatest climbers the sport has ever witnessed. So Rapha commemorate Pantani with a special edition jersey. This jersey – in maglia rosa pink – has a pattern inspired by the graffiti of devoted fans, still visible on the climbs which Pantani conquered. Other graphic elements include 'il Pirata' (the Pirate) on the shoulders and other emblems and embroideries relating to Pantani's career.
I play the street life
Because there's no place I can go
Street life, it's the only way I know
And there's a thousand cards to play
Until you play your life away
You dress and walk and talk
You're who you think you are
Street life, you can run away from time
Street life, for a nickel, for a dime
Street life, but you better not get old
Or you're gonna feel the cold
(Song called Streetlife by the Crusaders ft. Randy Crawford)
Filson, the Seattle-based heritage brand, opened its first East Coast shop this week.
The 1,800 sq. ft. space on Great Jones Street in the NoHo neighborhood features a mix of the brand’s luggage, accessories and outerwear amid a wall of reclaimed wood, a shuffleboard table and a wall of plants by the artist Satoshi Kawamoto. Indeed, he also worked wit GANT Rugger for their FW14 presentation.
The Filson shop will be the first to carry the brand’s new line of camera bags developed with Magnum, the legendary photo agency.
